IKT Grenland and Porsgrunn Kunstforening are organizing a two-day conference and exhibition about the possible development of a cultural infrastructure for art and new technology in and around the cities of Skien and Porsgrunn.
Atle Barcley, the former director for Atelier Nord and PNEK board who has recently relocated to the region, will present a sketch for these developments which will be presented at the conference on Feb 14 and 15.
Notam calls for contributions to a Sound art exhibition to be produced at Henie-Onstad Kunstsenter in Nov/Dec 2008. The winner of the competition will receive NOK 70.000 to produce a work for the exhibition, and a catalogue will be produced.
Deadline for submitting sketches and concepts is Jan 9, 2008.
Article is a nordic biannual exhibition for unstable and electronic artforms.
i/o/lab together with co-curator Jens Hauser hereby invite you to submit proposals for artistic work and conference talks to be included in Article 2008.
We are interested in Nordic productions from areas including but not limited to:
* art making use of living material or oil material
* works addressing ecology/biology
* work for mobile devices
* concepts for broadcast television or podcasting
* installations for public spaces
* public actions
* social events
We are primarily interested in completed productions but will give equal merit to incomplete/suggested work and proposals in the evaluation of applications.
Article wishes to present work which is either site- or context-specific, work which explores and exploits the potential for artistic expression in everyday surroundings and objects. Please note that Article operates without a gallery space, and presents the selected art projects on public spaces selected in collaboration with the artist.
The artist/group we invite will receive artists fees.
Article will be launched 15.-30.November 2008
Deadline for submissions: Jan 1, 2008.

In connection with the opening of the Generator X exhibition in Porsgrunn Kunstforening, PNEK director Per Platou will give an introduction to the field of Electronic Art in Norway on a conference October 23rd at Klosterøya, Grenland. The conference will be held in Norwegian.
Per Platou wrote a report from this years’ Ars Electronica in Linz published at Kunstkritikk. (NB: Norwegian only, sorry)
SOFT FREEDOM, Trondheim Matchmaking 17. -23. okotber 2005!
Trondheim Matchmaking arrangeres av stiftelsen Trondheim Elektroniske Kunstsenter, TEKS, og er en møteplass for presentasjon av innovative idéer og kunstneriske prosjekter, et sted for å ivareta og utvikle kompetanse og ressurser innen ny teknologi og elektronisk kunst. Nye kunstprosjekter med behov for teknologi - nye teknologier med behov for innhold: et forsøk på å binde sammen ressurser og kompetanse innen feltet. Årets arrangement har tittelen “Soft Freedom”.
Med utgangspunkt i Norges 100-års jubileum som selvstendig stat, diskuteres frihetsbegrepet i den digitaliserte hverdagen. Kurator: TEKS i samarbeid med dr. Alan J. Munro fra Glasgow. Arrangementer under TMM:
17.- 20 oktober: workshop med Rob van Kranenburg, Nederland.
19. -20. oktober vises det “digitale” teaterstykket “Bankesignaler. Lysild. Røyksignaler” av Uli Winters/ Klaus Fehling, Tyskland, framført av mekaniske dukker på Teaterhuset Avant Garden.
21. - 22. oktober inntas konferansesenteret NOVA, hvor det i raske skift presenteres et bredt spekter forelesere fra inn- og utland; kunstnere, forskere, teknologer og filosofer. Som vanlig får årets festival besøk av flere av verdens mest profilerte forskere og kunstnere innen feltet.
