As from March 1st, Notam will cut drastically in its free services towards its users, due to the sustained tight budget, according to a press release from director Jøran Rudi. From now on, Notam will focus its activities in the direction of
- more self-initiated and high-profile projects
- more commissions – music and sound art
- increased number of NOTAM-fellowships
- more production of text
- sharper focus on technical r&d
- more specialized courses and workshops
- more conferences and seminars
- increased cooperation with concert promotors.
Notam calls for contributions to a Sound art exhibition to be produced at Henie-Onstad Kunstsenter in Nov/Dec 2008. The winner of the competition will receive NOK 70.000 to produce a work for the exhibition, and a catalogue will be produced.
Deadline for submitting sketches and concepts is Jan 9, 2008.
Åpent Forum med Kim Cascone ble arrangert på Notam 14. april i forbindelse med Random System festivalen.
Verksted med Kim Casconeunder Random System festivalen som gikk av stabelen 15-18. april. NOTAM arrangerte verksted med Kim Cascone i samarbeid festivalen. Verkstedet vil tok for seg de mulighetene bruk av åpen kildekode gir, og fungerte som en møteplass og ide-laboratorium for skolerte musikere, lyddesignere eller videojammere.

Anders Vinjar har portet Common Music Notation til dataspråket Guile, for bedre integrering med Snd, Common Lisp Music (CLM) og Common Music (CM) og annen Guile-basert programvare.
